Little Swinger Sophia

Here is a page I finished today - Sophia swinging on the swings in Heather and John's back yard after Jack's birthday in November.

Some Scrappin' Fun

I hadn't posted for awhile so decided I would post some layouts I did at the "Crop Till You Drop" @ Photo Metro last Friday night. I found this paper in my stash and it matched perfectly with the sweater that Ava was wearing. These are pictures of her and Jack playing outdoors in their back yard after Jack's birthday party in November. I think the title says it all....Beautiful Girl!
Now all I need are pictures of Sophia's - "Disco Dance" birthday party last weekend!

Here are a couple of pictures of our cute little black-capped chickadees flitting and flying around the feeders on the front veranda... snacking on black oil sunflower seeds

First Snowfall

Well....it's arrived !!
We had our first snowfall beginning yesterday afternoon into this morning - it is pretty but unfortunately we know it is just the beginning of a long season of snowfalls!!
For those of you who like snowmen ..it's the perfect snow for building one - soft and sticky!

I don't know if you can see it in the pictures but there are a lot of deer footprints all through our back yard... along with some pine cone crumbs and cedar boughs pulled off the cedar on the left ...evidence that we had some nighttime visitors!

Birthday Wishes

Thanks to all who have extended Birthday Wishes, (including some who felt they had missed it)... but .... as anyone who knows me well is aware...my birthday celebration goes on for ...oh, I'd say ...usually a week!

The actual date is Sunday November 29th but I have been receiving cards, dinners , cake etc. since Wednesday November 25th.

The plans for this weekend are ...Red Hat Christmas dinner tonight( Friday); semi-formal Christmas party here in Bonfield, Saturday night; Brunch on Sunday with my honey; followed by dinner Monday night with our dear friends - Connie and Ian and Bonnie and Lou.Along with a tentative lunch date with Linda and Liz scheduled for next Thursday...how lucky can a girl get???

I am SO fortunate to have so many wonderful , kind and thoughtful friends.

Usually a person has less in the way of celebrations as they get older but it seems to be working the opposite for me.

Since losing my Mom and several close friends before their time, I am more aware than ever; how blessed I am to be able to celebrate these birthdays and cherish each and every one.

My Version of the Hot Chocolate Wallet

Here is my first attempt at the Hot Chocolate Wallet idea posted by Karen on her "Go Scrapping" blog on Day 3 of the Crafty Christmas Blog Hop. It is way cuter in real life!
I also found some $2.00 "scratch tickets" at our corner store called " Candy Cane Cash". For my next ones, I am going to make the front pocket to hold the ticket: with 2 hot chocolate packets, 2 candy canes for stir sticks and the ticket - what a cute little gift!!
Thanks Karen - it wasn't too hard even for a newbie crafter like me and I LOVE how it turned out!!

Card Challenge...Blog Hop

This is my take on the card challenge posted by Simply Scrapping on Day Two of the Crafty Christmas Blog Hop....also my first try at posting a picture of a layout or card online!!
I had some scraps of SEI " Winter Song" left from making my cards this year so used those - I had lots of embellishments left and used the Quikutz Christmas sayings to make my greeting...leftover paper frills from eons ago - and Stickles of course!!
I do love my bling!!...now on to try the Hot Chocolate wallet!
